DEMING – Luna County 4-H Shooting Sports youths recently immersed themselves in a thrilling weekend at the Whittington Center in Raton, NM, where they honed their skills and fostered camaraderie. The experience was nothing short of memorable, as they showcased their talent and sportsmanship with great enthusiasm.
Among the standout achievements, the Rifle team comprising Monte Offutt, Joshua Wilkinson, Audrey Donaldson, and Issac Gamboa clinched an impressive 2nd place, with Offutt securing an individual 4th place. Additionally, Abrie Ortiz represented Luna County as a formidable individual shooter.
In the realm of archery, both Luna County teams made their mark by finishing within the top ten. Led by Monte Offutt, Eli Turner, Hunter Patterson, Marshal Offutt, Aiden Jasso, and Daxton Shulke, these young archers displayed remarkable precision and determination.
Furthermore, Luna County demonstrated prowess in shotgun shooting, with two teams comprising Aiden Jasso, Hunter Patterson, Marshal Offutt, Issac Gamboa, Eli Turner, Daxton Schulke, Izaihiz Nunn, and Ryndon Bookout participating. Their collective efforts and skillful performances contributed to the county’s success in the competition.
