DEMING – The Starmax outdoor recreational project is making steady progress with various phases nearing completion. Currently, the skate park’s dirt work is being finished and compacted in preparation for the concrete pour. This foundational work is crucial for ensuring a smooth and durable surface for skaters.
Concrete slabs for the basketball and pickleball courts have already been poured. In the next few weeks, these courts will receive their final coatings. Once the coatings are applied, the installation of goals and netting will complete this portion of the project.
Additionally, preparations for the batting cages are underway, focusing on footings and underground infrastructure to ensure a solid and reliable base for the structures.
Located at 333 North Country Club Road, the Starmax outdoor recreational center is an initiative run by Luna County. It aims to expand the existing family-friendly entertainment facilities, which currently include a cinema, bowling alley, arcade games, and a restaurant. The new sports complex addition is set to enhance the recreational offerings for the community, providing more opportunities for outdoor activities and sports.
