DEMING – The Luna County 4-H team showcased their talents at the New Mexico State 4-H competition held last week in Las Cruces. On Friday, the results were announced, highlighting the impressive performance of the 14 Luna County participants.
Team Results:
- Wildlife Team #1 – 1st Place (Braylin Chaffin, Monte Offutt, Eli Turner)
- Wildlife Team #2 – 3rd Place (Marshall Offutt, Ashlynn McGinnis, Hunter Patterson, Daxton Schulke)
- Agronomy – 2nd Place (Braylin Chaffin, Marshall Offutt, Monte Offutt, Eli Turner)
- Entomology – 3rd Place (Almarae Schultz, Ashlynn McGinnis, Tyson Tharp)
- Horticulture – 4th Place (Marshall Offutt, Monte Offutt, Tyson Tharp)
- Consumer Decision Making – 3rd Place (Addison Schulke, Jazmin Perea, Braylin Chaffin, Nahima Rodriguez)
- FCS Bowl – 2nd Place (Addison Schulke, Braylin Chaffin, Jazmin Perea, Nahima Rodriguez)
Luna County 4-H also had a team competing in Livestock Judging, comprising Diego Camunez, Kendahl Bingham, and Cierra Montoya.

- Braylin Chaffin – 1st Place in Wildlife, 2nd Place in Agronomy
- Marshall Offutt – 3rd Place in Wildlife, 5th Place in Agronomy
- Monte Offutt – 4th Place in Wildlife
- Almarae Schultz – 2nd Place in Entomology
- Addison Schulke – 5th Place in Consumer Decision Making, 3rd Place in FCS Bowl
The competition, held on the campus of New Mexico State University, brought together participants from all 33 counties in New Mexico. Luna County 4-H’s strong performance reflects the dedication and hard work of its members and coaches.
