DEMING – The local animal shelter will be temporarily closed this week and will not reopen until Monday, August 26th.
This closure is necessary to ensure that the facility’s cooling systems are functioning at their best during the ongoing heatwave. In addition to maintaining the cooling systems, the shelter will also be conducting thorough checks of its electrical and plumbing systems and performing a deep cleaning of the entire facility.
During this period, the shelter will not be accepting any new intakes or processing any outtakes. The staff is asking the community for patience and understanding during this time of essential maintenance.
For those who have lost a pet, the shelter recommends checking the “Deming Lost and Found” online platform for any updates. Although the shelter will be closed to the public, staff will be available to answer phone calls during regular business hours to address any questions or concerns.
Shelter representatives said they appreciates the community’s cooperation and looks forward to reopening on August 26th with improved facilities to better serve the animals and the public.
