DEMING – The Deming City Council will convene today for a special session, which includes a workshop presentation by Mr. Geno Zamora from the New Mexico Municipal League. The training will focus on critical areas of governance, including the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, Inspection of Public Records Act, Government Conduct Act, and best practices for New Mexico municipalities.
The training session is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be open to the public via a virtual platform on GoToMeeting.com. Members of the community can access the virtual training through the city’s website, where additional details are also available.
Following the public session, the Council will meet privately to discuss personnel matters concerning key appointed city officials, including the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Treasurer. The private meeting will focus on limited personnel issues.
Today’s meeting will take place in the Deming City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1275 East Pine Street. The public is encouraged to attend the virtual session and stay informed about the Council’s ongoing governance efforts.
