Early College High School Students Volunteer at DAGSHIP Rescue Recently

DEMING – Best Friends Animal Society reports the first decline in shelter euthanasia rates since 2020, down 3.4%, alongside a 4.4% increase in dog adoptions.

In statewide updates, the New Mexico Veterinary Medicine Board approved rules on November 20 for distributing SB57 spay and neuter funds. Grant cycle details are expected soon.

Locally, Early College High School students visited DAGSHIP Rescue before Thanksgiving to learn more about animal care. Meanwhile, KDEM radio is hosting its Santa Paws 2024 promotion to benefit DAGSHIP Rescue.

Donations, including pet food, toys, bedding, cleaning supplies, and treats, can be dropped off at 1700 South Gold Avenue, Monday through Friday before 2 p.m. For details, call KDEM at 575-545-3208.
