DEMING – The City of Deming has contracted RT Electric to launch the Gold Street Maintenance Reduction and Signal Lighting Project, with construction scheduled to begin on Feb. 17. Officials estimate the project will take nine to twelve months to complete, depending on weather conditions.
The project aims to reduce Gold Street to a single lane in each direction, improve traffic signal synchronization, and enhance pedestrian safety, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Motorists should prepare for lane closures and delays along key sections of Gold Street. Construction will impact the area from Cedar Street to Ash Street, while traffic from Ash Street to Hemlock Street will be limited to one lane in both directions.
City officials will provide updates as work progresses. For more information, contact City Hall at (575) 546-8848.
