DEMING – A $2.6 million roadway rehabilitation project is set to begin along U.S. 180 just west of Silver City, with traffic impacts starting April 2.
The project will use Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR), a process that removes, crushes, rejuvenates, and replaces existing asphalt, reducing costs and environmental impacts while improving road quality.
Lane closures will be in place from milepost 87 near Riverside to milepost 110, two miles west of Silver City. A pilot car operation will guide traffic through the work zone, and drivers should expect delays. Work will take place Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with completion expected by May 31, weather permitting.
