DEMING – Motorists traveling through Lordsburg should prepare for delays as both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Exit 24 will be closed for a partial bridge removal. The closure will begin on April 1, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. and continue through April 2, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
Traffic will be rerouted off I-10 at Exit 24 and back onto the highway via the exit ramps during the demolition. Drivers should expect delays and are urged to follow posted detour signs or avoid the area if possible.
The westbound portion of the bridge is being removed following a March 7 incident in which a commercial motor vehicle carrying an excavator struck the structure. Engineers assessed the damage and determined that removal was necessary.
