Police Respond to Shooting and Bomb Threat at Deming Intermediate School

DEMING – Deming Public Schools has confirmed that a shooting and bomb threat was made against Deming Intermediate School. Upon receiving the report, school administrators immediately contacted law enforcement, and an active investigation is underway.

In a statement released by the district, officials assured the community that the threat is being thoroughly investigated and mitigated following all established safety protocols. There will be an increased law enforcement presence at Deming Intermediate and across other school campuses as a precaution.

“Deming Public Schools takes any reference to threats in our schools very seriously,” the statement read. “We are committed to investigating all threat claims in our schools.”

The district extended its gratitude to local law enforcement for their quick response and continued partnership in addressing the situation.
