DEMING – The Deming Police Officers Association invites the public to attend its first annual Police Officer Appreciation Ceremony this Saturday, May 17, from noon to 4 p.m. at Luna County Courthouse Park, 700 South Silver Street.
The event is designed to recognize and honor the service and dedication of Deming’s law enforcement officers. Awards will be presented to officers for outstanding contributions and achievements within the department and the community.
Deming Police Chief Sergio Lara told KDEM News that the ceremony is a way to connect with the community while showing appreciation for the men and women who serve in uniform each day.
The gathering coincides with National Police Week, which runs May 11 through 17 this year. The public is invited to enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers during the afternoon event.
