Kenneth (Ken) Wayne Chaffin, 70, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 in Deming, New Mexico. He was born on August 11, 1954, in Farmington, New Mexico.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Virginia Chaffin; his children, Mashelle Baker and husband Landon, Shane Chaffin and wife Tiffany, Matthew Chaffin and wife Hailey, and Andrew Chaffin and Ashley. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren.
Ken spent much of his life working in the mining industry, including memorable years in Australia—a time the family fondly recalls. Above all, Ken loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandkids, who brought him immense joy.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, NM. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Ken’s life.
Ken will be remembered for his hard work, deep love for his family, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
