DEMING – The Deming Public Schools Board of Education has announced it has narrowed its search for the district’s next superintendent to four finalists. Formal interviews are scheduled for June 14, 2025.
As part of the selection process, the Board will receive input from two advisory committees—one made up of district staff and the other of parents and community members—who will provide feedback on each candidate.
The four finalists are:
- Edgardo Castro, Ph.D., Chief Academic & Federal Programs Officer, Truth or Consequences Municipal School District
- Fred Montalvo, Ph.D., Executive Director of Operations, Las Cruces Public Schools
- Miguel Angel Serrano, Ph.D., Executive Director of Leading and Learning, Fort Worth Independent School District
- Nicholas Wohlgemuth, M.Ed., Director of Secondary Schools, Gadsden Independent School District
According to an official release from Charles Turner, Government Affairs Coordinator for Deming Public Schools, “We are thankful to everyone who applied to serve the Deming Public Schools community and appreciate the time and effort each candidate put into the application process.”
