DEMING: Luna County Commissioners will vote Thursday on whether to expand the Board of County Commissioners from three to five members.
Resolution 25-38, scheduled for a vote during the June 12th regular meeting, would formally initiate the process of increasing board membership to improve representation and oversight.
Also on the agenda: a presentation from Mimbres Valley Medical Center CEO Duke Young, and other topics ranging from polling place designations for 2026 and 2027 to the appointment of a new sheriff’s deputy.
Commissioners will also consider several resolutions, including support for Chihuahua’s “Corredor Noroeste” development project, a National Fitness Campaign grant application, and Catron County’s disaster declaration related to Mexican grey wolves.
The meeting starts at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Luna County Courthouse, and is open to the public.
