Interstate 10 Traffic – New traffic pattern expected
LAS CRUCES – The ongoing bridge rehabilitation project on I-10 over the University Avenue Interchange at milepost 141 will require a new traffic pattern to complete construction activities.
Beginning today, June 12, 2025, at 10 a.m., the contractor will begin shifting traffic back into the eastbound and westbound driving lanes. The passing (inside) lanes will remain closed. The eastbound and westbound on/off-ramps will be reopened to traffic.
The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH throughout the project area.
This $8.6 million roadway improvement initiative includes bridge rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction, and lighting upgrades. The contractor’s work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by August 2025.
