Luna County Addresses Updated for NG911 Emergency Compliance

DEMING – Luna County has completed updates to residential and commercial addresses as part of its compliance with Next Generation 911 (NG911) requirements. These updates are critical for improving emergency response times, public safety, and accurate routing for law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel.

Residents who’ve received a change-of-address letter are urged to visit their local post office to ensure the address has been updated in the official USPS Redbook system. This step is essential for proper mail delivery and consistent emergency service access.

Luna County is working to ensure that updated addresses are reflected across major delivery and mapping platforms, including Google, FedEx, and UPS. However, officials warn that Amazon relies directly on USPS Redbook data—so verifying address updates with the post office is especially important for accurate deliveries.
