DEMING – The Deming-Luna County Humane Society has announced that spay and neuter vouchers are still available to Luna County residents—but they’re going fast.
The program began on June 17 with a total of 240 vouchers. As of today, only 113 remain.
Vouchers can be picked up Monday through Saturday starting at 12 PM at the shelter. To receive one, residents must provide valid photo ID and proof of Luna County address. There is a limit of two vouchers per household, and reservations cannot be made by phone.
In sharing the update, the shelter also highlighted the story of a sweet mama dog who was left at the facility while pregnant. She recently gave birth to six puppies and is now in foster care—doing well and caring for her litter. Staff emphasized that situations like this can be avoided with timely spaying and neutering.
