Deming Historic Landmark Commission Meeting Scheduled for July 17

DEMING – The City of Deming’s Historic Landmark Commission will hold its next public meeting on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers, located at 1275 East Pine Street.

According to Municipal Clerk Mary Jo Valdez, “The commission will meet to consider business items properly brought before the Historic Landmark Commission, and we encourage community interest in preserving Deming’s historic character.”

The Historic Landmark Commission serves an advisory role to the City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission. Its responsibilities include identifying, preserving, and promoting local historic sites, structures, and districts, as well as reviewing any proposed changes to designated landmarks within city limits.

Citizens needing accommodations to attend the meeting should contact the City’s Community Services Director at 575-546-8848. Requests should be made as early as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the meeting.
