Luna County 4-H Youth Set to Join State Conference in Las Cruces

DEMING – Local 4-H members from Luna County will soon head to Las Cruces to take part in the 2025 New Mexico State 4-H Conference, happening July 7th through the 10th at the Las Cruces Convention Center. This year’s theme is “Soar Through the Sky with 4-H,” bringing together hundreds of youth from across the state for hands-on learning, leadership development, and statewide competitions.

The four-day event includes workshops in wildlife evaluation, horticulture, agronomy, and family consumer sciences, along with officer elections, evening dances, and a fashion revue. Participants will also hear from special guest speakers and enjoy themed events each night—including a “Wear Camo” party on Monday, a beach night Tuesday, and a patriotic red, white, and blue theme on Wednesday.

Luna County Extension staff will be supporting the delegation as they represent the county in state-level contests and activities. Organizers say the conference is a key opportunity for youth to gain confidence, connect with peers, and build leadership skills in a fun and welcoming environment.
