Luna County 4-H Youth Shine at 2025 State Conference in Las Cruces

DEMING – Luna County 4-H members had an exciting and successful experience at the New Mexico State 4-H Conference, held in Las Cruces from July 7th through 10th. Youth participated in a wide range of state-level competitions, workshops, educational tours, cookouts, and dances—an opportunity not only to showcase their skills, but to make new friends and lifelong memories.

Participants competed in events such as Agronomy, Wildlife, Entomology, Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) Bowl, Horticulture, and Consumer Decision Making, earning top honors in several categories.

Competition Results Included:

  • Agronomy Team(Braylin Chaffin, Monte Offutt, Marshall Offutt, Eli Turner) – 1st Place
    • Individual Awards:
      • Braylin Chaffin – 1st Place
      • Marshall Offutt – 2nd Place
      • Monte Offutt – 3rd Place
      • Eli Turner – 5th Place
  • Wildlife Teams
    • Team 1 (Braylin Chaffin, Monte Offutt, Marshall Offutt, Eli Turner) – 2nd Place
    • Team 2 (Aiden Jasso, Dante Torres, Jose Wilson, Ashlynn McGinnis) – 3rd Place
    • Individual Awards:
      • Braylin Chaffin – 1st Place
      • Monte Offutt – 4th Place
      • Ashlynn McGinnis – 5th Place
  • Entomology Team(Almarae Schultz, Kendahl Bingham, Ashlynn McGinnis, Marshall Offutt) – 2nd Place
    • Individual Awards:
      • Almarae Schultz – 1st Place
      • Ashlynn McGinnis – 4th Place
  • FCS Bowl Team – 2nd Place
    • Individual Awards:
      • Addison Schulke – 2nd Place
      • Monte Offutt – 5th Place
