Deming’s most iconic tradition, the 46th Annual Great American Duck Race, is set to make a splash once again this summer. The event will take place Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24, bringing four days of entertainment, racing, and community spirit to the Luna County Courthouse Park area.
This year’s theme, “Vegas Casino Duck – Press Your Luck, Race a Duck!!”, promises to raise the stakes with a vibrant blend of Las Vegas flair and family fun. The winning theme was submitted by Margie Castro, who earned top honors for her creative contribution.
A beloved staple for over four decades, the Duck Race draws thousands of visitors from across New Mexico and neighboring states. Attendees can expect a weekend filled with food vendors, games, music, and of course—live duck racing.
