DEMING – Drivers heading toward Silver City on U.S. Highway 180 will notice major improvements as progress continues on the four-lane widening project.
Ami Evans with the New Mexico Department of Transportation tells Deming Radio News great progress is being made on the US 180 four-lane widening project. Over the past few months, she says crews have nearly completed all dirt work, and paving of the remaining lanes is well underway.
Evans adds that curb and gutter and roadway lighting installation is also in progress.
She says the project remains on schedule to be completed this winter.
Evans reminds drivers to use caution and reduce speed when driving through the work zone—for their safety and the safety of highway crews.
