Sandbags Available as Luna County Responds to Flooding Threats

DEMING – Luna County officials have announced the availability of sandbags to assist residents in areas impacted by recent flooding, especially in low-lying regions throughout the county.

The Luna County Road Department has prepared sandbags as part of its ongoing flood mitigation efforts. Residents in need can visit the department at 2500 J Street in the Industrial Park, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is closed on Fridays and weekends.

Recent storms have brought localized flooding to parts of Luna County, particularly in low-lying and poor drainage areas, prompting the county to reinforce preparedness measures.
