DEMING — The 46th Annual Great American Duck Race wrapped up Sunday in Deming with two new champions.
On the wet track, siblings Rylan and Izabella Larko of Deming took home the title. On the dry track, it was Chloe Martinez of Deming, racing a duck for the very first time, who came out on top. Each champion earned a payout of $2,333.44, marking the end of another successful year of racing and community celebration.
Duck Race president John Richmond told Deming Radio News that, “We had a great weekend racing ducks and seeing our community come out and enjoy the festivities. Our races were up this year which allowed us to provide a higher prize for the 2025 winners. A huge thank you to Luna County for allowing us to hold our event at the courthouse park, community, volunteers, and partners for making this year a success! See you August 27-30, 2026 for the 47th Annual Great American Duck Race!”
Events wrapped up around 3 p.m. Sunday as the carnival, vendors, and entertainment all came to a close. Organizers and fans now look ahead to the 47th annual Great American Duck Races, set for August 2026.
