DEMING – Deming MainStreet is asking for community support as it competes for a national grant program that could bring new resources to downtown.
The Levitt Foundation is offering community grants, and Deming is among the cities in the running. Organizers say local votes will determine who receives funding, making public participation critical.
Voting will be open online from September 5 through September 15. Supporters are encouraged to visit vote.levitt.org, enter the keyword “Deming,” and cast a ballot to help secure the grant.
Deming MainStreet leaders say the money would help grow local events and projects, continuing the work of revitalizing downtown. Past efforts have included festivals, community celebrations, and improvements to public spaces.
Residents are encouraged to spread the word and remind friends and neighbors to participate. Every vote, organizers say, will bring Deming closer to winning the grant and strengthening the MainStreet program for years to come.
