Candidate Forum Set for October 7th in Deming
DEMING – The Deming Luna County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a candidate forum for Tuesday, October 7th, at the Train Depot, located at 217 North Country Club Road. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
John Krehbiel with Bravo Mic’s – Deming’s KDEM and KOTS Radio stations will serve as moderator for the evening. Audience members will be able to submit written questions, which will be presented to the candidates. No follow-up questions will be asked by the moderator unless clarification is needed to ensure candidates fully understand the question.
Chamber officials said that all candidates currently running for office were invited to participate through email. Chamber President noted that if any candidate feels they may have been overlooked, they should contact the Chamber immediately so they can be added to the roster. Candidates who plan to take part are also asked to confirm their participation with the Chamber in advance.
Organizers said the forum is designed to give local candidates and the voting public a fair opportunity to exchange information, ask questions, and become better informed ahead of the election.
