Help Shape Deming’s Future – Vacancies Open Now

DEMING – The City of Deming is inviting residents to submit letters of interest to fill vacancies on several city boards and commissions that serve as advisory bodies to the mayor and city council.

The Marshall Memorial Library Board has one vacancy for a two-year term open to residents of the city or Luna County. The board meets on the fourth Tuesday of even months.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has three vacancies for two-year terms. Applicants must live within city limits. The commission meets on the third Monday of each month.

The Parks Commission is seeking to fill one three-year term. Residents of either the city or county are eligible to serve. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of even-numbered months.

The Historical Landmark Commission has one four-year vacancy. Applicants must be city or county residents with demonstrated interest in preserving the area’s historic and cultural resources. Backgrounds in fields such as architecture, history, planning, real estate, or related areas are encouraged. This commission meets only as needed.
