DEMING – A man is in custody following an alleged robbery at the Ultra Health dispensary on East Pine Street Monday morning. Police say the suspect was taken into custody after officers responded to a panic alarm at the store and began reviewing evidence.
According to the Deming Headlight, an employee reported that a male subject entered the store, forcibly took several THC vape cartridges, and caused minor injuries to the clerk during the struggle. Witnesses said the man was seen fleeing from behind First Financial before officers arrived.
Responding officers later observed surveillance footage that showed the same man involved in the incident. Investigators were able to identify the suspect, locate him at his residence, and recover the stolen items along with clothing matching what was seen in the video.
Police confirm the suspect has been charged with robbery. No serious injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing.
