DEMING – Deming Animal Guardians (DAG) says its monthly adoption events at Tractor Supply continue to draw families and find homes for local pets. Director Chrystal reports steady turnout, and most recently “Oppa” was adopted into a household with children—meaning plenty of playmates and activity for the young pup.
At DAG’s biannual meeting and election of officers on October 18, members selected Pat Danser, Robyn Callo, Cindy Kane, Mike Reitz and Patty Salesse to serve on the board. With one former board member stepping down due to a new job, the nonprofit is looking to fill a vacant seat.
Residents interested in tackling companion-animal overpopulation in Luna County—and willing to pitch in on policy, fundraising, clinics and adoption events—are encouraged to learn more. To express interest or request details about board service, contact Pat Danser at [email protected].
DAG hosts regular adoption days at Tractor Supply and partners with local volunteers and donors to expand low-cost spay/neuter options, foster placements and education. The group says community participation remains the key to keeping momentum going into the winter adoption season.
