DHS Students Host Free Veterans’ Repair Workshop on November 11

DEMING – High school students in the National Technical Honor Society at Deming High School are inviting veterans to a free community repair workshop on Monday, November 11, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The event will take place inside the carpentry and welding workshops on the DHS campus at 1500 S. Iron Street in Deming.

The workshop is being offered as a way to give back to local veterans. Students in engineering, manufacturing, carpentry, and welding programs will work together to repair personal items at no cost. Veterans may also bring wood pieces for custom engraving of names or logos. Students will be available to help fix small furniture, cabinets, tables, and similar items that need attention.

Organizers say the project allows students to apply their technical skills while honoring veterans for their service. All veterans are welcome to attend.
