DEMING – The Deming Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian during the Southwest New Mexico State Fair.
Captain Jose Montoya of the Deming Police Department said in a media release, “The incident occurred after 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, on D Street, one block south of the Fairgrounds parking lot,” where a pedestrian was struck by a white Dodge Ram pulling a trailer loaded with a side-by-side. The vehicle appeared to be a diesel model with chrome side steps and possibly a Mega Cab. After the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving the victim in critical condition.
Detectives released two surveillance clips showing the vehicle and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective A. Acosta at the Deming Police Department by calling (575) 546-3011.
