DEMING – Parents and caregivers in Luna County now have access to free play pens through the Luna County Parents as Teachers program. The initiative is designed to support families who are in their third trimester of pregnancy or caring for a newborn baby by providing a safe space for infants to sleep and play.
Families may visit either of the program’s two locations to receive a play pen at no cost. In Deming, distribution takes place at 1510 South Slate. The Lordsburg location, at 207 High Street, also offers the service. Both sites can assist residents with questions and availability by phone.
The program reflects an ongoing effort to equip local families with essential resources during the earliest and most important stages of a child’s development. Local coordinators encourage expecting mothers and new parents to take advantage of the assistance while supplies last.
