COLUMBUS, NM – Residents and businesses in the Village of Columbus are being advised to prepare for a temporary water service interruption that is expected to occur sometime this week as construction continues on a local flood control project.
According to a notice from village officials, the planned interruption will affect the Industrial Park area and nearby locations. Areas expected to be impacted include, but are not limited to, the Port of Entry, the Columbus Apartments, Family Dollar, Columbus Stockyards, the UETA Duty-Free Store, along with other shops and residents in the area.
Officials say the temporary shutdown is necessary to allow the construction company to continue work on the flood control project. While the interruption is anticipated to take place this week, an exact date and time have not yet been confirmed.
Village officials said a follow-up notice will be issued once the specific schedule is finalized and thanked residents and businesses for their patience and understanding during the construction process.
The notice was issued by the Village of Columbus Water and Wastewater Superintendent.
