Obituary – Adrian Paul Newton

Adrian Paul Newton, born May 18, 1971, in Deming, New Mexico, passed away January 9th, 2026 with his wife by his side in Aurora, Colorado.

Adrian bravely fought multiple myeloma for over ten years, showing remarkable courage and determination. Through even the most challenging moments, his resilience and spirit inspired everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Adrian was the beloved son of Colonius ‘Pee-Wee’ and Faye Newton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sonja Newton; his children Sean, Vonne, Kevin, Chantelle; and his step children Linzee (Steven), Zane (Andrea). He was a cherished grandfather to Victoria, Marley, Sierra, Harper, Jace, Ticiella, Trevon, Alexa, and Brysun.

Adrian is also survived by his siblings Jeannette Palma (Abraham), Venetia Simmonds, Renee Gutierrez, Elgin Newton, and Leann Moreno (Fernando), and by his nieces and nephews Edward Teague (Nina, son Levi), Monique Newton (son Amare Newton-Loya), Elgin Newton Jr., and Michael Simmonds. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Vigil, sister-in-laws Doreen Vigil, Diana Muniz, Lisa Vigil, brother-in-law Randy Vigil and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Colonius “Pee-Wee” and Faye Newton, his brother Kenneth Newton, and his paternal grandparents, Virginia Lee Coleman and Albert Newton, his father-in-law Howard Vigil, stepdaughter Talia and his grandson O’Marious Martinez.

Adrian will be remembered for his soft-spoken and quiet nature, his warmth and kindness, and his love for working out, vintage cars, motorcycles, detailing cars, and rebuilding carburetors. He was an excellent mechanic and a trusted friend to many. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his positivity, strength, and unwavering friendship.

Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 3464 Columbus Road in Deming, New Mexico, at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery

Serving as pallbearers are Zane Martinez, Abraham Palma, Richard McBride, Vonne Newton, Tony Leon and Brad Muniz. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Newton, Trevon Martinez, Brysun Beyale, Derrelton Yazzie, Randy Vigil, Trent Muniz, Marcus Archibeque.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
