Obituary – Hortencia Silva Saenz

Hortencia Silva Saenz, 84, a resident of Deming, NM went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at her residence.

Hortencia was born on March 16, 1941 in Hatch, NM to Juan Silva and Maria (Serna) Silva.

Hortencia is survived by her two daughters, Cecilia Saenz of Deming, NM and Mary Holguin of Las Cruces, NM; five brothers, Vicente Silva and his wife Julie of CO; Juan Silva Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; George Silva of Albuquerque, NM; Danny Silva and his wife Sally of Hatch, NM and Richard Silva and his wife Joann of Hatch, NM; three sisters, Lupe Silva and his wife Mayo of Las Cruces, NM; Esther Barrela of Las Cruces, NM and Joann Moreno of Hatch, NM; six grandchildren, Donnie Daniels, Jacob Carrillo, Trish Sakhatov, Austin Carrillo, Cassie Delgado and Christin Holguin; and ten great grandchildren, Belen Carrillo, Estevan Daniels, Rahim Sakhatov, Elijah Sakhatov, Xaylen Saenz, Payton Sakhatov, Aziz Sakhatov, Kamryn Delgado, Siir Sakhatov and Jalil Walt Sakhatov.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband Pablo T. Saenz; two sons, Gilbert Saenz and Paul Saenz; two brothers, Ramon and Jesus Silva; and one sister, Mary Torres.

Hortencia loved spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 5-6pm with the Holy Rosary beginning at 6pm with Lucy Villegas officiating at Terrazas Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 10am at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Mike Buentello officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Donnie W. Daniels, Jacob Carrillo, Austin Carrillo,

Trish Sakhatov, Cassie Delgado and Christin Holguin.

Honorary pallbearers are Mary Holguin, Cecilia Saenz, Stella and Alex Uzueta, Danny Silva, Eric Silva, Juan Silva II and Estevan Daniels.

Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels.
