Traffic Report for the week of March 29th through April 5th.

Motorists traveling in Luna County should expect several construction projects and are reminded to slow down, obey posted signs and watch for crews and heavy equipment in work zones. Double fines for speeding may be in effect, and conditions can change without notice.

On New Mexico 9, crews will be performing fog sealing operations from mile marker 86 to mile marker 110 between Animas and the Doña Ana and Luna County line. A pilot car will guide traffic Monday through Thursday.

On Interstate 10 near Deming and Akela, bridge deck repairs are underway between mile markers 102 and 105. One lane will remain open at all times, with overnight lane closures expected as crews complete the work. That project is scheduled to continue through May.

Looking ahead, additional bridge work on Interstate 10 at mile marker 81 near Road Forks is scheduled to begin April 6th, with a 10-foot width restriction and overnight lane closures expected. Another project near Deming at mile marker 5 is set to begin April 9th and will temporarily restrict access from westbound I-10 to New Mexico 80 southbound.

Please drive carefully and allow extra time when traveling through construction zones.
