High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest in Deming

DEMING – A high-speed chase through Deming ended with the arrest of 29-year-old Mario Pacheco.

Deming Police Captain Jose Montoya told KDEM News that officers spotted Pacheco’s Ford Fusion driving erratically on Columbus Highway near Pear Street. A check of the vehicle’s plates revealed they were expired. When officers attempted to pull him over, Pacheco fled, leading officers on a pursuit through the city.

The chase ended at the corner of Country Club Road and Pear Street, where officers conducted a felony traffic stop. Pacheco was charged with driving while impaired with drugs, his second offense, aggravated fleeing from law enforcement, driving with a revoked license, and expired vehicle plates.
