DEMING – The Luna County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at the Luna County Courthouse, located at 700 South Silver Street in Deming. The hearing is being conducted to consider a request from JUWI for a special use permit to construct a commercial-use solar energy project in Luna County.

The proposed project site is located off of Thron Ranch Road Northwest. During the hearing, documentation supporting JUWI’s request will be formally presented. The public is encouraged to attend, and comments or questions regarding the project will be accepted as part of the official record.

The company emphasizes its ability to manage all stages of project development, stating: “In the dynamic solar industry, a partner that can shepherd a project from beginning to end is the one you want. JUWI is that partner.”

JUWI specializes in large-scale solar projects across the western United States, with most of its developments exceeding 100 megawatts in capacity. Throughout its operational history, JUWI has successfully completed projects in 14 states, ranging from a 2-megawatt installation in Vermont to a 225-megawatt facility in its home state of Colorado.

The company’s U.S. headquarters is located in Boulder, Colorado, at 1710 29th Street, Suite 1068. They can be reached by phone at (303) 440-7430.

Wednesday’s hearing will determine whether the Luna County Board of Commissioners grants the special use permit required for JUWI to proceed with the project. County officials note that transparency and public input are critical components of the permitting process.

For residents interested in land use, renewable energy development, or local economic impacts, tomorrow’s hearing presents a key opportunity to engage with both elected officials and representatives from JUWI.
