Government Offices, Schools to Close Early Monday; Scholarship Night Rescheduled

DEMING – Due to anticipated inclement weather on Monday, May 19, 2025, several City of Deming offices will close to the public at 11:30 a.m. These include City Hall, the Deming Police and Fire Departments, Motor Vehicle Department, Municipal Court, and the Marshall Memorial Public Library.

Deming Public Schools will also follow an early release schedule Monday in response to the forecasted high winds and potential road closures. Parents with questions should contact their child’s school directly or call the district office at 575-546-8841.

Additionally, Deming Public Schools has announced that Scholarship Night, originally set for Monday evening at 6:30 p.m., has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. The event will still take place at the Deming Public Schools Auditorium.

Officials say the change was made to ensure student and family safety, provide clarity, and prevent last-minute disruptions. The district looks forward to celebrating its scholarship recipients with the community on the new date.
