City of Deming and American Red Cross Partner for July Blood Drive at WNMU Mimbres Learning Center

DEMING – The City of Deming, in partnership with the American Red Cross, is inviting the public to roll up their sleeves and help save lives at an upcoming community blood drive.

The drive will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the WNMU Mimbres Learning Center, located at 2300 E. Pine Street in Deming. The event will be held in the facility’s Main Hall and is being coordinated by Blood Program Leader Azucena Vargas.

Organizers stress the ongoing need for blood donations. “The need is constant,” said a Red Cross spokesperson. “Every two to three seconds, someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion, and most of us will need blood at some point in our lives. Volunteer donors play a critical role in helping patients in our own communities.”

Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance. To sign up, visit the Red Cross Blood Donor App (available on the App Store or Google Play) or text BLOODAPP to 90999. The app also allows users to track donations, view their blood type, and receive the results of their mini-physical.

For more information or assistance with scheduling, contact Azucena Vargas at (575) 546-8848.

The City of Deming and the American Red Cross thank the community for its continued support in helping meet this lifesaving need.
