DEMING – The City of Deming has issued a public notice indicating that a quorum of the City Council may be present at the upcoming “Deming PD Explorer End of Program” event scheduled for Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Trees Lake, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The notice, signed by Mary Jo Valdez, CMC, serves to inform the public that while a quorum of council members—including the Mayor—may be in attendance, no official city business will be discussed or acted upon during the event.
The gathering is part of a community celebration marking the conclusion of the Deming Police Department’s youth Explorer Program, which gives local students hands-on experience in law enforcement and civic service.
City officials emphasize that the notice is being issued strictly in compliance with open meetings laws, to ensure transparency regarding elected officials’ attendance at public events.
