DEMING – The following is today’s local arrest and police report. Information was released by the Deming Police Department and the Luna County Detention Center. All persons mentioned are to be considered innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Carrie Howell, age 35, of Deming, was arrested on a Luna County bench warrant for failure to pay fines. Bond was set at $50.
Ezequiel Padilla, age 24, of Deming, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), open container, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Victoria Gomez, age 34, of Deming, was arrested for trespass, disorderly conduct, and interference with officers.
Fred Haynes, age 57, of Deming, was arrested for interference with officers, disorderly conduct, and injuring or defacing property.
Christopher Hernandez, age 44, of Deming, was arrested on a Luna County Magistrate Court warrant for criminal damage to property (household member). No bond was set.
Steven Lee Mathies, age 56, of Deming, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (felony), resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, and on a Luna County Magistrate bench warrant for failure to appear. No bond was set.
John Van Enige, age 54, of Deming, was arrested for deprivation of property (household member) and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer.
Michael Chavez, age 45, of Deming, was arrested on a Luna County Magistrate Court bench warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation. No bond was set.
Shelby Pool, age 30, of Hobbs, New Mexico, was arrested on a Lea County Magistrate Court bench warrant for failure to appear. No bond was set.
Eugene Raymond Contreras, age 38, of Deming, was arrested on a Luna County Sixth Judicial bench warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation.
Amy Teran, age 47, of Deming, was arrested on a Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear. No bond was set.
In other crimes:
At Silver Linings, located at 214 S. Copper Street, a backpack containing miscellaneous items was stolen. The value of the loss was reported at $40.
At Walmart, Tommie Courville, age 38 and listed as homeless, was cited for petty misdemeanor shoplifting.
On the 2000 block of East Pear Street, a 2018 gray Kia Ion SUV had two tires slashed while parked at a residence. The estimated damage was $300.
A 13-year-old juvenile female was cited for allowing herself to be served alcohol.
At the La Quinta Hotel on East Pine Street, an enclosed trailer was broken into overnight in the parking lot. A Dewalt toolbox with miscellaneous tools valued at $600 was reported stolen.
