DEMING – The Florida 4-H Club is reaching out to the community to help support local animals through its annual donation drive for the Deming Luna County Humane Society.
The drive is now underway and focuses on collecting items that make a direct difference for cats and dogs in the shelter’s care. Requested donations include dog and cat food, soft and warm blankets, laundry soap, and cat litter. Other pet-related supplies are also welcome, as the shelter cares for dozens of animals throughout the year.
Donations can be dropped off at the Luna County Extension Office during regular business hours, and the collection will continue through Monday, September 8, 2025.
4-H members say the effort is more than a club project—it is a chance for the community to come together for the animals. “Every bag of food, every blanket, and every bottle of laundry soap helps the Humane Society care for the pets that need us most,” members noted.
The club expressed gratitude to all who supported last year’s drive and says they are excited to see the positive impact this year’s effort can make for animals in need.
