DEMING – The City of Deming has announced updates to the Gold Avenue Construction Project, aimed at improving safety, traffic flow, and parking for residents, visitors, and businesses.
Key changes to Gold Avenue include:
- Raised Center Median: Designed to reduce turning conflicts and improve overall traffic safety.
- New Lane Configuration: Traffic has been reduced from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction to calm traffic and enhance safety.
- Updated Striping: Each direction now features one travel lane, a striped safety buffer, and parallel on-street parking along the curb.
- Safety Buffer: The painted buffer provides added space between parked vehicles and moving traffic for increased protection.
