DEMING – The Deming Police Department and Deming Public Schools are joining forces once again for a community-driven coat collection effort called Cram the Cruiser.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot. Shoppers are encouraged to stop by, look for the flashing police lights and the department’s banner, and donate new or gently used jackets for local children in need.
According to the department, representatives from the Deming Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and Deming Public Schools will be on-site to collect jackets and interact with community members. The initiative provides a practical and heartfelt way for residents to support area youth as colder weather approaches.
Organizers emphasize that cash donations will not be accepted — only jackets are being collected.
For those wishing to participate, simply bring a coat or jacket to Walmart during the collection window and help “Cram the Cruiser” full of warmth for Deming’s young people.
