DEMING – The Luna County Road Department will begin a chip-seal operation on Geranio Road SE, south of NM 549 at Akela, starting Monday, November 17, and continuing through the month of November.
The county is asking drivers to use caution around construction zones and to watch for flaggers, road closures, posted detours, and fresh oil and chips on the roadway. Motorists are urged to slow down for their own safety as well as for the safety of road crews.
Luna County Road Director David E. Bailey thanked the public in the announcement, saying, “Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working to improve our area streets. Happy Thanksgiving, and please drive safe.”
