DEMING – Local law-enforcement activity this week included several arrests and incident responses, according to reports released by the Deming Police Department and the Luna County Detention Center.
Anthony Meraz, 46, was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property valued at over $100 but under $250. Rhonda Miller, 40, was taken into custody for trespassing. Officers also cited and released Chad Lynn Kuhn, 41, for trespassing at McDonald’s.
Out-of-state warrants led to multiple arrests. Carlos Torres Escobar, 54, of Utah, was booked on a Utah County District Court warrant for robbery, assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child, and property damage, with no bond set. Misael Munoz, 28, of Colorado, was taken into custody on a no-bond warrant for failure to appear. Sebastian Rax-Asig, 18, of Missouri, was arrested on a St. Louis County warrant for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, with bond set at $25,000.
In another case, Hernan Madrid, 35, was charged with driving on a suspended license and was also served a municipal warrant for failure to appear on an original racing-on-streets charge.
Police additionally responded to a larceny report on East Walnut Street where a bicycle valued at approximately $1,100 was reported stolen from an apartment. Officers and EMS were dispatched to an overdose call on West Oak Street where Narcan was administered before the patient was transported to the hospital. The individual did not disclose what substance was used.
All persons mentioned in today’s report are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
