Obituary – Esther Sanders

Esther Sanders, 70, a resident of Deming, NM formerly of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2025 at her residence with her husband by her side.

Esther was born on October 2, 1955 to Manuel Acosta and Reynalda Caballero.

Esther was born in San Antonio, Durango, Mexico, where her father served as mayor. At the young age of 14, she moved to Juarez, Mexico, in 1973. She began building her life through hard work and dedication, spending 16 years at the General Electric factory, first working on circuit boards and later advancing into quality control. She then continued her career at the Coca-Cola factory until 1996.

That same year, Esther met the love of her life, William David Sanders, one Sunday at church. The two married on November 8, 1996, beginning a lifelong partnership built on faith, devotion, and deep mutual support.

Following her move to the United States, Esther pursued her passion for helping others and earned her CNA license. She worked at Fort Bayard Medical Center for 19 and a half years, where her dedication, compassion, and work ethic earned her numerous awards and the admiration of her colleagues and patients alike.

Esther had many talents, she loved sewing, was an exceptional cook, and had a heart big enough to welcome everyone around her. She touched every life she encountered with kindness, warmth, and generosity. Above all, Esther cherished time with her family. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and her love for her family was at the center of everything she did.

Esther will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
