DEMING – Enrollment is now open for the 2025–2026 Luna County 4-H program, giving local youth the opportunity to participate in one of the nation’s most recognized youth development organizations. Luna County families are encouraged to begin the enrollment process now, as the deadline for submitting paperwork is quickly approaching.
4-H is a hands-on youth program focused on helping young people develop life skills through practical learning experiences. Members can take part in a wide range of projects including agriculture and livestock, gardening, science and technology, arts and crafts, cooking and nutrition, leadership development, communication skills, and community service. The program is designed to help youth build confidence, responsibility, and teamwork while exploring personal interests.
Luna County 4-H also offers shooting sports projects, which emphasize safety, responsibility, and skill development. These projects may include archery, rifle, shotgun, pistol, and other outdoor skills, all taught under the supervision of trained and certified instructors. Shooting sports projects focus on safe equipment handling, discipline, and respect while encouraging youth to develop focus and confidence.
There is no cost to enroll in Luna County 4-H; however, some projects, activities, or events may involve additional costs for supplies, equipment, or participation fees.
The deadline to submit Luna County 4-H enrollment paperwork is January 9, 2026. Families interested in enrolling or learning more about available projects are encouraged to act soon.
