DEMING – Silver Consolidated Schools has announced the selection of Kelley Lee as the new head football coach at Silver High School, a move that is drawing interest from football fans across southwest New Mexico, including Deming.
School officials say Lee was chosen following a competitive and comprehensive interview process that included multiple qualified candidates and input from administrators, athletics staff, parents, and community representatives. District leaders noted that Lee stood out for his leadership style, experience, and clear vision for the future of the Fighting Colts football program.
Coach Lee brings years of coaching and educational experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He is a graduate of Western New Mexico University and has served in head coaching and assistant roles at several programs, earning a reputation for building disciplined, competitive teams while emphasizing character and accountability.
Silver Consolidated Schools officials say Lee’s coaching philosophy aligns closely with the district’s values, particularly the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. He is expected to focus on strengthening team culture, community connections, and long-term program stability.
Lee will be joined in Silver City by his wife Melissa and their children, Kingston and Croix. School leaders and supporters are welcoming the family and expressing optimism about the future of Silver High School football under his leadership.
